Biography

Dr. Gökçe Elif Baykal is an assistant professor in the Communication Design department at Özyeğin University in Istanbul, Turkey. Her research focuses on incorporating learning theories into interaction design practices and methods in child-computer interaction. Her research includes spatial thinking in mixed realities and technology-mediated collaborative interaction. She received her Ph.D. in Design, Technology and Society Program with Graduate Studies Excellence Award from Koç University in 2018. She worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Information Studies at Aarhus University, Denmark between 2018-2020. In the past years, she worked as a screenwriter for TRT Çocuk (National Broadcasting Channel for Children in Turkey) television series for children. Her research was awarded by Science Academy's Young Scientists Program (BAGEP) 2022 in the Education/Design category and the Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program by TÜBİTAK in 2024.
