Dr. Demet Özer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Bilkent University and currently leading the Multimodal Language Lab (MuLaB) at the same university. She received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Koç University in 2021. Dr. Özer’s broad area of research is on human language as a multimodal and situated phenomenon. She investigates how speakers and listeners coordinate speech and spontaneous co-speech hand gestures during language production and comprehension.
